Our neighbors at Tribeca Citizen put together this comprehensive guide to what’s going on with the proposed SoHo/Noho rezoning, and it’s well worth a read whether you’re for it, against it, or still undecided. (Tribeca Citizen)
Six years after closing their much-loved Torrisi Italian Specialties on Mulberry, Florence Fabricant reports that Major Foods Group will be opening a deli and restaurant like it just a few blocks away, in the Puck building on Lafayette and Houston. The new venture is still to be named, but we’re hoping they bring the Torrisi name back! While we wait for it to open, they have two other restaurants in the area: Sadelle’s on West Broadway just below West Houston and Parm on Mulberry between Spring and Prince. (New York Times)
Speaking of Torrisi, something new is FINALLY opening up in the space. It’s called Brendan’s Burgers, still under construction but I’m happy to see one less empty storefront
Thanks so much for the tip, Katie! Will go over there soon to find out more about them.
