Pearl River Mart, ?by Gene Han

Good news to start the Lunar New Year: after a few years in Tribeca—capped by news of an unexpected need to vacate—Pearl River Mart has just announced they will be moving their flagship downtown store back to SoHo! Their new location at 452 Broadway (recently vacated by Australian shoe brand Roozee ) will be their sixth HQ in the neighborhood, out of seven total since the Chens first opened their doors on Catherine St in 1971.

They have yet to announce when the big SoHo (re)opening will be, but until then they’re still open just a few blocks down in Tribeca at 395 Broadway and at their two newest locations in Chelsea Market, which includes Pearl River Mart Foods in the food court; their outpost in the Museum of Chinese in America on Centre St is currently closed until the museum itself reopens.
